ELENI PAPADEMETRIOU
Eleni Papademetriou was born in Karavas, Kerynia, where she graduated from the Gymnasium.
She studied Greek Literature at the Aristoteleion University of Salonika, where she was awarded her Ph.D. in Modern History and Folklore in 1990.
She was employed at the Cyprus Folk Art Museum, the Cyprus Handicrafts Service and the Culture Service of the Ministry of Education and Culture.
Her publications include Cypriot Costume (1991), Karpasia’s Ethnography (1992), Silk Industry in Cyprus (1995), The Cyprus Folk Art (1996), Cypriot Ethnography Collections in British Museums (2000), Traditional Woodcraft in Cyprus (2003) and Modern glazed pottery of Cyprus Lapithos Ware (2005).
